DIFFERENCE IN SERUM PHOPHATASES, GLUTAMIC OXALACETIC AND GLUTAMIC PYRUVIC TRANSAMINASES ACTIVITIES BETWEEN THE MATERNAL AND FETAL BLOOD
ÑÑòªúÓ
Abstract
Summary
The activities of serum alkaline, acid phosphatases, G.O.T. and G.P.T. of the maternal and fetal blood were surveyed in 25?26 normal delivery cases. The following results were obtained.
1) The-serum alkaline phosphatase activity of the maternal side is 4:69 -F 2.07 units while the fetal one is 6.08 ¡¾ 2.35 units %, which is higher than that of the former. This difference is highly significant. (P<0.01)
2)The serum acid phosphatase activity of the maternal blood is 0.91 ¡¾ 0.67 units ;o, while the fetal one is 1.41 ¡¾ 1.49 units %. This difference of maternal and fetal levels is also significant. (P< 0.5)
3) The serum G.O.T. activity of the maternal side is 18.04 ¡¾ 4.95 units %, while the fetal one is 28.36 ¡¾ 6.68 units %. The fetal level is much higher than the maternal one. This difference is highly significant. (P<0.01)
4) The serum G.P.T. activity of the maternal side is 9.44 ¡¾ 2.26 units %, while th efetal one is 13.44 4.27 units X. The difference between the maternal and fetal levels is also highly significant. (P <0.01)
5) A discussion was attempted that the higher enzyme activities in fetal serum might be attributed to the active synthetic processes of the proteins and intensive bone formation in the fetal body.
